The Sea of Lies

The One I Drowned, originally uploaded by phil.wieler.

It's high tide and I'm struggling to stay afloat.
Gasping for air, and gripping for anything to hold onto
I'm searching for the exit.
Drowning in your broken promises,
Heavy waves crash into me,
Tearing me to shreds.

Your words they are killing me,
And ending everything we share.

Truth above all else is what I was diving for,
But I come up with so many lies to spare.
I'll hand them out to friends,
Send them in letters to strangers.
Maybe even feed them to the ducks.

This is where the story ends.
I'm finished being sick with anger,
I've tried and tried but had no luck.

It's too late to save me,
There are too many lies floating above my head.
Now what we share is dead.
