Today I'm working 12 mother fucking hours but really, I'm excited about it. It's the first day that I will be working at both jobs, the office and the salon.
After my first day at the salon on Saturday I was really nervous. I've worked with most of these people before. How did I not realize how much the customer service was lacking? Hopefully with my cheery ass it wont matter. I will greet those customers like there's no damn tomorrow. The scissors have yet to embrace my fingers and slice the hair of some naive customer, but they will! Today will be a day of learning and I am so excited. Hopefully I get to cut hair for the first time... well the first time legitimately.
My friends used to come to me a lot. At one point I even had parents asking me to cut their hair. It wasn't perfect but for $10 it was quite a bargain. Now though, I can charge $20 for a toddler and get away with it because it's going to be better. I'm going to rock at cutting hair.
It's times like these I miss Carmon. She used to let me cut her hair with no fear. She would be a perfect person to practice with. Not a day goes by I don't think about you, lovely. You're always on my mind.
I had to fix her hair a lot too. She would let anyone who said they could cut hair touch it. Someone would jack it up and I'd be the one she'd call to fix it. Those were the good ole days. This was definitely one of the haircuts I attempted to fix with little luck (and I had really short hair, that was a long time ago!).

I was reading all these articles about cutting your own hair so I was like, I can do that! And I tried with a pocket knife, and it didn't work. So then I had to go have somebody fix it, and when he did he was like, how long has it been?! And I was like, ohhh a while, and um, the guy f'd it up. He didn't know what he was doing... which was true. Because I didn't. thank god for friends like you!
There is nothing like finding the person who can cut your hair right. I am a guy and my cut is simple. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a person to just do it right. I have yet to find it in this area.

I think as the time goes by, you'll be a pro at cutting hair :) I wish I had a friend here who can cut hair. I have so many photos of celebrity hair I want to try :D
